Just as important as the kind of construction is the location.
The Canton Valais was the one we went for. This had various reasons.
For one the Valais has a micro climate. The capital of Sion (next to Nax) has 2300 hours of sunshine a year.
In the north and south of this valley, the mountains are so high that it rains down before the clouds (coming from north or south) reach the top.
First we went to the department for economic development of the canton, where we were directed towards a valley called Val d’Hérens.
The Val d’Hérens is about to be recognized as a nature park in the Biosphere Reserve program by the UNESCO.
The lady at the department for economic development found that our project would just fit into this program.
